Krijn de Koning
Artist and Conceptual Architect
Dutch artist Krijn de Koning was recently awarded the Sikkens prize -- a prestigious design award for living artists. (Past recipients include Le Corbusier and Rietveld.) If you've ever seen one of de Koning's spaces, you'll instantly know why he was awarded this honor. His restructuring of space using form and saturated color is so beautiful, you'll wonder if you haven't seen it before. For the record, you haven't. Pictured is the work he executed at Corbigny Abbey in France.
