Wildflowers inspire wedding palette
First daughter Jenna bush celebrated her nuptials on May 10th at an evening ceremony on the Bush ranch in Texas. The wedding colors were inspired by wildflowers, specifically those that grow naturally on her father's property--a range of soft lavenders, cornflower blues, nettle greens and buttercup yellows.
Although the bride wore traditional white, the seven bridesmaid's wore a spectrum of blue and purple. Designed by Texas native Lela Rose, each dress shared a common length and cocktail style, but was customized to each girl with unique feminine detailing.
This idea of wearable dresses (for post wedding wear) is an increasing trend, as is the move away from the stereotypical palette of seafoam and peach.
